Wiggle Iggle Friday

As ecclectic as my tastes might be I do have a soft spot for a well written pop song. (few and FAR between those are these days)

Back in 2002 I was privy to this great booty shakin' video by a guy who was a little intense, kinda weird but kind of hot...And I just couldn't help but love the line: "you can keep your toys in the drawer tonight" Hot damn boy bring it on... YESSS sir.. HA HA. I just could not get this song out of my head for the longest time. Of course back then he went by simply 'Thicke'.

That's right before all of his Lost Without You smoothness (which I'm NOT a big fan of) Robin Thicke dipped his feet in the R&B pool. A little music trivia- after "when I get you alone" he decided the spolight just wasn't for him and decided to lay low behind the scenes writing songs for Christina Aguilera, Mya, Brandy, Marc Anthony, and Jordan Knight.

But enough with the jibber jabber, on to the song, I hope you enjoy and watch out it just might make you want to bump uglies with your significant other. Enjoy

I never would have guessed that was Robin Thicke! I've never heard this, but I could listen to it a lot!

Uh, you got the sequence backwards, Robin's first album, "A Beautiful World" (containing "When I Get U Alone" and "Oh Shooter", which Lil Wayne did a remix of on the Carter II), came out in 2003. He was writing songs for other artists long before that, in fact, since he was sixteen. He wrote on Brandy's and Christina's and other artists' very FIRST albums, before they were stars. He wasn't ready to really get out there as a singer until he was in his twenties. "A Beautiful World" is great, but very different from his second album, "The Evolution of Robin Thicke." It has more of a Prince, Stevie Wonder vibe

Thanks Jones for correcting me.=) God knows I do enough of it to my hubby and friends. And you are absolutely right. That's what I get for writing a blog at 1am. You are sooo right about the Prince/Stevie Wonder vibe of A Beautiful World. That's probably the reason I enjoy it so.

I wonder if his dad Alan has this secret deep seeded envy of his success. He really only had success with jingles and TV Show themes. But deep inside you know he wanted the kind of career that Robin has now.
